LOVE, MARRIAGE & RUNNING A BUSINESS TOGETHER

TL;DR: We’ve been married almost three years, have a one-year-old, and started a business together — and somehow we still like each other. Here’s what’s helped.

When people ask what it’s like running a creative business with your spouse while raising a baby at the same time, the short answer is: beautiful chaos.
We’ve been married almost three years. Our little one is turning one. And somewhere in between diaper changes, dishes, and date nights, Wet Paint Society was born.
This business is our second baby. And like with any baby — it takes late nights, constant care, and the occasional “what are we even doing?” moment.
Here’s what’s kept us grounded (and together):
1. FRIDAY DATE NIGHTS. NON-NEGOTIABLE.
Every week. No matter how tired we are. No laptops. No business talk. Just real conversation, good food, and a chance to be more than just business partners or co-parents — to be us.
2. GOOD CONVERSATIONS OVER EVERYTHING
We talk a lot. About the hard stuff and the fun stuff. About our goals, our fears, our wins, and what we need from each other. The business doesn’t work if we don’t.
3. WE CHEER EACH OTHER ON
Not every day is easy. But we genuinely root for each other — in work, in parenting, in growth. Whether one of us is painting or cleaning bottles, it all counts.
4. WE’RE BUILDING SOMETHING TOGETHER
This business isn’t just about weddings. It’s about creating a life we believe in — for us, for our kid, for the couples we get to serve. We want our son to grow up seeing what love, teamwork, and creativity can look like.
Wet Paint Society was built on love — literally.
We’re married, we’re tired, we’re wildly grateful.
We haven’t painted our first wedding yet, but we’re ready.
And we know what love looks like — not just on the big day, but in the every day.
