OUR BABY TURNED ONE

TL;DR: Caija turned one yesterday, and we're deep in this new chapter of our life. Parenting and business-building at the same time hasn’t been easy — but we wouldn’t trade it for anything.

Somehow, our baby is one.
And we honestly don’t know how we got here — except that we did. One bottle, one nap, one bold decision at a time.
The same week we were learning to swaddle and survive 2am feeds, we were also whispering dreams about building something of our own.
Wet Paint Society was born right alongside Caija.
It’s been the most chaotic, joy-filled, emotionally overstimulating season of our lives — and it’s also the one that’s shown us exactly who we are.
Because when you become a parent and an entrepreneur at the same time, the world gets very loud and very quiet all at once.
Loud: The diapers. The emails. The rushed meals between painting sessions.
Quiet: The early mornings. The long stroller walks where you have time for those deep talks. The place where brain finally has space to dream again.
The moment you realize, “We’re doing it. This is our life now.”
IT’S NOT EASY — BUT IT’S OURS
We’ve painted or taken meetings with a baby on our laps.
Answered client calls during naptime.
Dreamed up business ideas in the car while she slept in the backseat.
It’s not always smooth. But it’s full.
WE’RE BUILDING FOR HER
Every brushstroke, every post, every decision we make — we’re thinking of her.
Not just about money or milestones — but about legacy.
What does it look like to build something that lasts?
That’s creative and honest and faith-filled?
That makes space for family, art, and work to coexist?
That’s the real dream.
So yes, this past weekend we were blowing out candles and cutting cake and maybe crying into the frosting just a little.
Because our baby girl is one.
And so is this new version of us.
HERE’S TO LOVE, LEGACY, AND SMALL BEGINNINGS.
And if you’re getting married this year and want a piece of that energy on canvas — we’d be honoured to paint your story.
